Product Description

The DELTA 3 Max Plus is the step you take when 2,400 W is not quite enough. Same 2,048 Wh of LFP battery as the standard Max, but behind a 3,000 W inverter that surges to 6,000 W — the difference between a station that runs your electronics and one that starts a well pump, a table saw or a window air conditioner. Add a Smart Extra Battery and it becomes a 4 kWh home backup system.

What it will actually run

Working from 2,048 Wh, and allowing for inverter losses:

  • Full-size refrigerator: a day to a day and a half
  • Chest freezer: around two days
  • Starlink Mini: about two days continuous; a Standard kit about a day
  • Window air conditioner (5,000 BTU): four to five hours
  • CPAP without humidifier: four to five nights
  • Circular saw or 1 hp compressor: starts and runs where a 1,800 W station trips

Who buys this one

Two groups. People who lose power for days rather than hours and want the fridge, freezer, well pump and internet covered without a generator in the driveway. And people building out a van, RV or workshop who need real starting current from something they can still carry. If your list is phones, laptops, lights and a satellite terminal, the standard DELTA 3 Max saves you weight and money for the same battery.

Charging it back up

Three routes, and you will use all of them. A standard wall outlet for the fast fill before you leave. Up to 1,000 W of solar, which refills the pack inside a clear day. And your vehicle, through an alternator charger, which turns every drive into a recharge — the reason this model is popular in van builds.

Where people use it

Common questions

Output and expansion. Both hold 2,048 Wh, but the Plus runs a 3,000 W inverter instead of 2,400 W, doubles solar input to 1,000 W, adds a 30 A Anderson port and a 140 W USB-C port, and accepts a Smart Extra Battery to reach 4 kWh. If your loads are ordinary, the standard Max is the better value; if you want to run a well pump, a window air conditioner or a workshop, the Plus is the one that will start them.

No. Like every portable station, it outputs 120 V only. Well pumps, ranges and central air conditioners on 240 V circuits need a DELTA Pro Ultra with a Smart Home Panel, not a portable unit.

It can back up circuits, not a whole panel. With under 10 ms UPS switchover it can sit between the wall and a fridge, a freezer, a router and a satellite terminal and carry them through an outage without those devices ever noticing. For a wired-in, whole-home transfer you want the Smart Home Panel route.

Roughly two and a half to three hours of strong midday sun on paper. In the real world, plan on four to five good hours to go from empty to full, because panels rarely hit their rated output for long. That is still a full refill inside one clear day with 1,000 W on the roof or ground.

If you are sizing for multi-day outages or a long stay off-grid, yes — it doubles you to 4 kWh without doubling the electronics you carry. For weekend camping it is weight and money you will not use.

The LFP pack is rated for thousands of full cycles before it drops to 80% of its original capacity. For most owners — a handful of outages a year plus seasonal trips — that is well past a decade of service.

Can I buy a satellite phone?
Yes you can buy satellite phones, we offer the best satellite communication options. Including Iridium, Globalstar, and Inmarsat. Satmodo offers satellite phones that work anywhere in the world.
Do I need to rent or purchase a satellite phone?
If you are needing a satellite phone more than 6 weeks out of a year we always suggest purchasing. This will save you money in the long run. If you are just doing a short camping, hiking and hunting, etc. We recommend renting the satellite phone.
Why do people need satellite phones?
If you are planning on going on a trip where cell service is not available or if you want to be prepared for the next natural disaster. Satellite phones work when nothing else does. If there is no power and no cell service your satellite phone will work. Making this the most reliable form of communication.
How quickly can I get a satellite phone?
Satmodo can get you a satellite phone or satellite internet SAME DAY! We do always recommend planning ahead of time to save money on shipping costs. However, we can get you your devices same day if need be.
Which satellite phone has the best coverage?
Satmodo only works with the best networks. Iridium, Globalstar, and Inmarsat all offer different coverage areas. The only network that has global coverage is the Iridium Network.
