Iridium PTT Plans: Access, Talkgroups and Voice Minutes for Push to Talk
Airtime for Push to Talk on the Iridium 9575 PTT handset, which turns a satellite phone into a two way radio channel with no range limit. Every talkgroup includes the channel itself; access and voice minute plans add one to one calling on top of it. Start with PTT Access, then size the talkgroup, then add minutes if the phone also makes direct calls.
Push to Talk access
The first plan every 9575 PTT phone needs before a talkgroup or minute plan is added.

See 9 plans →Prepaid voice minute blocks
A PTT phone that needs occasional direct calls alongside the talkgroup, without a monthly minute plan.

Why Iridium PTT for team communication
Push to Talk turns the Iridium network into a two way radio channel with no range limit, so a supervisor and a crew stay on one channel across borders, oceans and remote terrain. It runs on the same satellites as Iridium voice, so coverage does not depend on cell towers or local infrastructure.
- One press reaches everyone on the talkgroup at once, no dialing individual numbers
- Talkgroup size is chosen by geographic area, not by a fixed number of radios
- Runs on a PTT capable satellite radio, alongside normal voice calls and SOS
- Talkgroup communications use AES 256 encryption

Good to know before you activate
- A one-time activation fee applies to every new PTT line; it is shown on the plan page.
- Push to Talk access runs on a 12-month term unless the 3-month term is selected.
- Voice minute plans are billed separately from the talkgroup and access subscriptions.
- Incoming calls are free to you when dialled directly; the caller pays their own international rate.
- If service is cancelled the SIM is permanently disabled and any unused allowance is forfeited.
- Prepaid minute blocks expire at the end of their stated validity unless a new block is added first.
- Talkgroup configurations, coverage areas and radio assignments can be changed over the air by an administrator.
- All Push to Talk communications use AES 256 encryption.
Radios these plans activate on
A Push to Talk plan only works on a PTT capable satellite radio. The Iridium Extreme PTT is the standard 9575 based handset, and the ICOM IC-SAT100 and IC-SAT100M are dedicated satellite PTT radios built for portable and fixed installs. The 9575 PTT takes a talkgroup, an access plan and a minute plan from this page; tell us which radio you have and we will confirm the plan set that fits it before activation.
