BGAN M2M is built for equipment rather than people, keeping a low cost link open so a remote asset can report in on a schedule. It is the plan behind pipeline monitoring, tank gauging, environmental sensors and backup links at unmanned sites.

The fine print, plainly
Good to know before you activate
- A one-time activation fee applies to every new line; it is shown on the plan page.
- Global plans run on a 12, 24 or 36 month term; the term is fixed for the life of the contract.
- Regional plans run on a 12 month term and cover a smaller footprint than the Global plans.
- Data and text allowances are billed together each month; usage beyond either is billed at the rate shown on the plan page.
- M2M service is designed for unattended equipment, not for voice calls.
- Ending a plan before its term is up carries the fee stated on the order; ask before cancelling if any allowance is still unused.
- Coverage on the Global plans is worldwide; Regional plans work only inside their stated footprint.

BGAN M2M airtime is built for a fixed IP satellite terminal rather than a handset. The Hughes 9502, in its integrated or external antenna form, is the terminal these plans are named for, and it runs on low power for unattended sites.
