Add up the essentials

A refrigerator averages roughly 100–150 W while running, a router about 10 W, and phone charging barely registers. A 2 kWh station covers a fridge and comms for about a day; 3.6 kWh and up buys several days or bigger loads.

Match the inverter to the biggest load

Well pumps, sump pumps and space heaters need a lot of power for a moment when they start. Look at the station’s continuous and surge ratings, not just its watt-hours — DELTA Pro class units handle these where small stations trip.

Plan the recharge

Keep the station topped up on a wall outlet so it is full when the storm hits. A 400 W folding panel can put well over a kilowatt-hour back on a clear day; add an extra battery if outages in your area run past two days.

A full-size refrigerator uses about 1–2 kWh a day. A 2 kWh station such as the EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max runs one for roughly a day; a 3.6 kWh DELTA Pro for two to three days. Add a solar panel or an extra battery if outages in your area last longer.

It depends on the pump’s start-up surge. Most residential ½ HP pumps need 1,000–2,000 W while running and more for a moment at start. A DELTA Pro (3,600 W continuous, 7,200 W surge) or DELTA Pro Ultra handles typical pumps; small RIVER-class stations will not. Check the label on your pump before you buy.

Not for plug-in use: run extension cords from the station to the fridge, router, lamps and chargers. If you want to power wall circuits, you need a transfer switch or the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2, which an electrician installs.
