Most households cover essentials — fridge, lights, phones, a fan or CPAP — with a 2–3.6 kWh station plus a panel to stretch it. Longer outages call for an expandable system with extra batteries.
Keep it ready
LFP stations can sit at full charge for months. Put a reminder to top up before every storm season and again when a watch is issued; a full charge from the wall takes about an hour on most EcoFlow units.
Power is half the kit
When cell towers go down, a charged phone is not a working phone. Pair your station with a satellite phone or messenger so you can reach family and emergency services.

Plan for at least 72 hours; in hurricane and wildfire zones restoration often takes longer. A 2–3.6 kWh station plus a solar panel covers essentials for most households; an expandable system with extra batteries covers a week.
Refrigeration and medication, communication (phones, radio, satellite phone), lighting, medical devices such as a CPAP, and a fan. Electric heating and cooking use far more energy — save those for a large system or a generator.

LFP stations lose only a few percent a month. Top the unit up every three months and again at the start of storm season, and it is ready the day a watch is issued.
Yes. The 12 V outlet adds around 100 W — slow, but 8 hours of idling or driving refills a small station. Solar is the better plan for multi-day outages, and any neighbor’s generator can refill an LFP station in an hour or two.
