Know your daily budget

A fridge, lights, laptops and phones typically land between 1 and 2 kWh a day; add an induction cooktop or a coffee maker and it climbs toward 3 kWh. Size the station to a full day, then let solar handle the rest.

Use every input

Charge from shore power when you have it, from the 12 V socket or an alternator charger while driving, and from panels when parked. Stations that accept all three stay full without a generator.

Pick the class

A DELTA 2 Max is the sweet spot for most vans; DELTA Pro and Pro Ultra run air conditioning and induction cooking in larger rigs and can grow with extra batteries.

For most loads, yes: fridge, lights, laptops, TV, CPAP and short microwave use. Rooftop air conditioning is the exception — it needs a DELTA Pro or Pro Ultra class unit and uses roughly 1–1.5 kWh for every hour it runs.

An alternator charger is the fastest route and can refill a large station on a day’s drive; the 12 V socket works but only adds around 100 W. Combine driving charge with solar at camp and shore power when you have it.

Yes, as long as the panel output falls inside the station’s solar input range — DELTA-class units accept 500–1,000 W of solar. Check voltage and current limits on the station before you connect an existing array.

A 12 V fridge uses about 1 kWh a day, so a DELTA 2 Max runs one for roughly two days with no sun, and indefinitely with a 220 W panel. A RIVER 2 Pro manages about 18 hours before it needs solar.

Yes on a station with a 2,400 W or larger inverter, such as the DELTA 2 Max. A pot of coffee uses about 0.1 kWh and 20 minutes of induction cooking about 0.5 kWh — noticeable, but fine on a 2 kWh station with solar.
