Iridium Active Antenna

This active antenna lets Iridium users that need to install longer long cable runs to use a lower-grade, more-flexible cable. It’s ideal for most cable runs between 150 and 500 feet. These longer cable lengths provide the capability to place Iridium installations on ships and on land where an Iridium solution ordinarily could not operate.

This active antenna provides extreme ruggedness and reliability.  It is made from an anodized hard aluminum bottom case and a pressure molded GRP radome to provide a water- and dust-tight antenna.

NOTE: The use of the incorrect cable at the specified length or the shortening of the cable supplied can damage the antenna and void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Kit Includes heavy-duty alloy mounting bracket, DC leads power break-in box and 1 m coaxial cable with TNC male end connectors.

The Iridium Active antenna is designed for use with specific lengths of coaxial cable terminated with type 'N' connectors, or a down-lead with an equivalent loss. Designed for harsh environments, the AA511 consists of two RHCP dipole antennae housed within a single 4mm thick GRP radome mounted on a common base.

OVERVIEW
AD-511 Iridium Active Antenna is designed to allow Iridium installations with up to 160 meters of coaxial RF cable, without any degradation of performance, compared to only 30 meters maximum for a standard passive antenna device.
These extended cable lengths offer the ability to provide Iridium installations on ships and land where previously an Iridium solution could not operate. AD-511 is supplied without coaxial cable as standard, but allows pre-set lengths between 27 and 160 meters subject to the use of the correct, manufacturers specified coaxial cable.
