Starlink uses a large low orbit constellation, which is what allows speeds and latency close to a home broadband line from places that have never had one. The dish acquires the network on its own once it has a clear view of the sky, so setup is measured in minutes rather than site visits. Local Priority data is prioritized inside its home country, while Global Priority follows the terminal across regions, and both fall back to lower priority service once the included allowance is used. This plan includes 1 TB of data every month. Usage beyond the included allowance is billed at $2.00 per additional megabyte, so there is no hard cut off in the middle of a job. The commitment is a single month, so the service can be started for one trip and stopped afterwards. Coverage on this plan is global. A one time activation fee of $50.00 applies when the line is set up. Activation is handled by our team in San Diego, and we can have the line live before your equipment ships.
