I do not know if more hi-tech products are out there. This is the satellite phone Globalstar GSP 1700 satellite phone. I found to have in case I needed to reach out in an area without cell service. It did work and I felt better knowing I could call for help if my car experienced trouble. A bit pricey, but worth the peace of mind.
