SCHEDULE OF EVENTS – 2023 BAJA 500

May 12, 5 pm: Deadline for BAJA 500 Entry and Safety Preparations

The highly anticipated 2023 BAJA 500 off-road race is just around the corner, and participants must ensure they meet crucial deadlines to guarantee their entry and prioritize safety. Here’s a breakdown of the important dates and requirements:

  1. Registration and Waivers:

    • Deadline: May 12, 5 pm
    • Teams must submit their entry forms to be listed in the race program and SCORE Journal.
    • If teams are unable to attend onsite registration, they must submit notarized waivers by this deadline to receive their wristbands.
    • Onsite registration is required for picking up the Driver Packet.
  2. Entry List Deadline:

    • Deadline: May 19, 5 pm
    • Teams must apply online, pay entry fees, or register in person at the SCORE office in Ensenada to be included in the Entry List.
    • Teams who participated in the Baja Vida 36th SCORE San Felipe 250 and completed registrations for the Baja 500 will be given start positions based on the San Felipe 250 results.
    • Failure to register and pay fees by this deadline will cancel the start position earned at the San Felipe 250.
  3. Team Media Registrations and Aircraft/Drone Operation:

    • Deadline: May 19, 5 pm
    • All team media personnel planning to provide coverage for team use and social media posting must register by this deadline.
    • Aircraft and drone operators must also register by this date.
  4. Co-Drivers/Co-Riders/Navigators Registration:

    • Deadline: May 24, 5 pm
    • Co-drivers, co-riders, and navigators must purchase memberships and complete registration by this deadline to be included in the Entry List.
    • Being on the Entry List allows entry into the county and coverage by SCORE Insurance while pre-running.
    • Failure to complete registration by this deadline means individuals have not fulfilled these two tasks.

Registration and Pre-Race Procedures:

  • Teams can register at the SCORE Ensenada office from May 19 to May 24.
  • Teams registering by May 19, 5 pm, will be included in the draw for start positions.
  • May 24, 5 pm, is the final deadline to be listed on the official Entry List.

Upcoming Schedule and Meetings:

  • May 18, 6 pm: Racer Brief, GPS Files, Course Map, Penalty Bulletin, and Pre-run stipulations will be posted online on the SCORE website.
  • May 20, 8 am: Pre-running opens from Rm 33.38 to Rm 446.86. Outbound pre-run from Rm 4.90 to Rm 33.38 will be open on Friday, June 2, from 8 am to 5 pm. Extreme caution must be exercised during pre-running, adhering to traffic laws and maintaining pre-running speeds.
  • June 1-2: Registrations, pre-tech, chassis inspections, media registration, technical inspections, and driver/rider meetings will take place at the Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center in Ensenada.
